Steelhead return to the Elwha

Migratory fish have returned to the Elwha River following last years NPS led dam removal project.  A recent article in the LA Times describes the return of several non-transplanted wild steelhead in some of the tributaries above the former lower dam site.  This remarkable discovery suggests that fish may return to the regions above the dam site in a relatively short period considering that the dam had blocked such migrations for nearly 100 years.  Full LA Times story here.
